Thymari sits on the stretch where the coast road begins its final run toward Sounion and the landscape turns to low hills, scrub, and thyme — which is where the name comes from. The beach is largely undeveloped: a quiet bay, clear water, and very little built behind it.
There is nothing to do here except swim and look at the sea, which for a certain kind of visitor is the entire recommendation.
Getting there
About 25 km south of Glyfada and 36 km from central Athens on the Sounio road. A car is required in practice; there are no facilities, so bring water and shade.
