Sardelaki

The place

Sardelaki is the kind of seafood taverna that Glyfada residents send visitors to when they want them to eat well rather than to be impressed. The format is the classic Greek one — mezes on the table, fish off the day's catch, ouzo or a cold bottle of white — served without ceremony in a room that fills with regulars.

It sits on Pandoras Street in the middle of Glyfada, a few minutes' walk from the main shopping streets and the seafront. Evenings are busy, particularly at weekends, and a table outside in summer is worth asking for when you book.
