By Harakas the coastline has turned genuinely wild. The coves here are natural, rocky, and largely untouched, with the road running high above and short tracks leading down. There is no organisation of any kind.
It is worth the stop for the sense of isolation more than for comfort — this is the Attica coast as it was before the Riviera was a marketing term.
Getting there
About 29 km south of Glyfada and 40 km from central Athens, on the final approach to Cape Sounion. Car only; the descents to the water are rough underfoot.
