The club
Astir Beach is the organised, serviced side of the Vouliagmeni peninsula: loungers laid out on groomed sand, food and drinks brought to you, changing facilities, and a level of order that the free beaches on this coast cannot offer.
It is a paid beach and priced accordingly, and it draws a mixed crowd of hotel guests, Athenians who come every summer, and visitors making a day of it. Weekends in July and August book out, so reserve if the date matters.
Getting there
On Apollonos Street in Vouliagmeni, about 6 km south of Glyfada and 19 km from central Athens. Fifteen minutes by car from Glyfada, with parking on site; the coastal bus toward Vouliagmeni stops on the road above.
