Akanthus is the polished end of the Akti tou Iliou beachfront in Alimos: proper service, a restaurant that takes itself seriously, and a day that builds from lunch through to DJ sets as the sun drops over the gulf.
It draws a dressed-up Athenian crowd and works as an all-day booking rather than a quick swim. Reserve for weekends in season, particularly if you want a bed near the water.

At Akti tou Iliou on Poseidonos Avenue in Alimos, about 6 km north of Glyfada and 8 km from central Athens, served by the tram and the coastal bus routes with parking on site.
