A sheltered sandy beach on the Palaio Faliro waterfront, popular with local families and close to the coastal tram line.
View guideAthens Riviera
The Riviera runs about 48 km down the Saronic coast, and the beaches change character as it goes. Closest to the city, Edem, Kalamaki, and Agios Kosmas are long, urban, and easy to reach. Glyfada and Voula are the social middle of the coast, with wide sand, beach bars, and Blue Flag water at Voula.
Past Kavouri the shore turns rocky and greener: pine-shaded coves at Mikro Kavouri and Limanakia, the clear water of Akti Vouliagmenis, and the spring-fed Lake Vouliagmeni, which holds 22 to 29°C all year. South of Varkiza the beaches thin out towards Cape Sounion, where pebble bays like KAPE and Legrena sit below the Temple of Poseidon.
