Kalamaki Beach

The beach

Kalamaki gives you a long, wide run of sand in the middle of Alimos, backed by the largest marina on this side of the city. It is one of the better-organised urban beaches on the coast: proper facilities, shallow entry, and enough width that the crowd spreads out instead of stacking up at the waterline.

The stretch shades gradually into the Akti tou Iliou complex to the south, where the beach bars take over. Kalamaki itself stays more straightforward — a place to swim and sit rather than a place to be seen — which is exactly why families and older locals keep choosing it over the clubs.
