Bolivar is the loudest of the Akti tou Iliou venues and makes no apology for it. Days here run long and end late, with a summer programme of parties and live events that has made it one of the better-known beach bars in Athens.
Come for the atmosphere rather than for a quiet swim. If you want the beach as a night out rather than as a place to lie down, this is the address on this stretch of coast.
Getting there
At Akti tou Iliou on Poseidonos Avenue in Alimos, about 6 km north of Glyfada and 8 km from central Athens. Tram and coastal buses run past the complex; taxis are straightforward late at night.
